Say "good bye" to Tech Support as you know it and "Hello" to personal help and self-discovery.

In this section we've made it as easy as possible to get help with, or finding more information about PSF software.

Ubuntu 9.04

Ubuntu is a complete Linux Operating System that can be used at home, at school or at work. Ubuntu contains all the applications most people will ever need, from word processing and email applications, to web server software and programming tools. Ubuntu will run in "Live" mode, meaning it will run entirely from the CD. If you like Ubuntu it can be installed later.

You may freely use, copy, and redistribute Ubuntu under the terms of the Gnu General Public License. Much of the included software and documentation is governed by other public licenses. A complete licensing policy is available Online at: http://www.ubuntu.com/community/ubuntustory/licensing

Ubuntu is a commonly used alternative to Microsoft Windows that allows you to surf the web, read email, create documents and spreadsheets, edit images and much more. Ubuntu will run directly from the CD, just insert it and restart your computer. From there you can safely use it as if it were installed on your computer. There is an icon to install it to your hard drive if you wish. On a typical computer the installation should take less than 25 minutes.

Currently the PSF distributes a 32-bit (x86) Live version of Ubuntu 9.04 with system and application updates applied to provide a better experience. This 32 bit version will run equally well on both 32 and 64 bit PCs.

Requirements

You will need at least 384MB of memory and 2GB of hard drive space to install from this DVD. This version (x86, 32 bit) works on most computers as long as you have enough memory and hard drive space. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors.

Support

Ubuntu has an Online help page with information on how to get help.
