Say "good bye" to Tech Support as you know it and "Hello" to personal help and self-discovery.

In this section we've made it as easy as possible to get help with, or finding more information about PSF software.

KNOPPIX

KNOPPIX is a complete Linux Operating System which will run in "Live" mode, meaning it will run entirely from the CD. If you like KNOPPIX it can be installed to the hard drive, but it is intended to be run in "Live" mode. KNOPPIX can be used for Linux demonstration, an educational CD, a rescue system, or adapted and used as a platform for commercial software product demos.

You may freely use, copy, and redistribute KNOPPIX under the terms of the Gnu General Public License. Many of the included software packages are governed by other public licenses.

As one of the very first, and still one of the absolute best, "Live" operating systems available, the use of KNOPPIX has been incorporated into lesson plans of university classrooms around the world. If you are curious about software available under public software licenses, trying KNOPPIX will at least give you a glimpse of the quality and variety available.

Requirements

To use KNOPPIX you will need a PC with at least 32 MB of memory for text mode, at least 96 MB for graphics mode with KDE (at least 128 MB of RAM is recommended to use the various office products). The Public Software Foundation recommends at lease 256MB memory.
